The purpose of the campaign was to fund music and sound engineering for the film. The film was partly funded via Kickstarter in a campaign that went viral in November 2016. The full film, the pair say, will follow a closeted boy who 'runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams.' In A Heartbeat was created by two animation students - Beth David and Esteban Bravo - at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida for their senior thesis. Clearly, because only a heartless person would not completely swoon over this trailer.
The super short animation left many social media users with a whole lot of feelings. Viewers just see a sweet redheaded boy try to control his heart (literally) when he sees his crush - another boy.
